Effective Date: 18 July 2025

Welcome to Young Surgeons Ireland. By accessing and using our website (https://www.youngsurgeonsireland.com) or interacting with any of our services, including donation features or scholarship applications, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Please read them carefully before using the site. If you do not agree with these terms, please refrain from using the website.

About Us

Young Surgeons Ireland is a student-led, non-commercial initiative created to support Irish medical students with a passion for surgical research. We are not a registered charity or legal entity and operate independently in good faith to provide transparent, merit-based support through an annual bursary.

Eligibility for Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in an Irish medical school (undergraduate or graduate entry).

  • Not be in their final year of study.

  • Be interested in or involved with research related to surgery.

  • Be of any citizenship or background, as long as the above conditions are met.

Each applicant is allowed one submission only via the Google Form linked on our website. Multiple submissions will lead to disqualification.

Donations

We accept one-time and recurring donations through secure payment providers. As we are not a registered charity, your donation is not tax-deductible under current Irish law.

🔒 All donations are final and non-refundable, except where required by law.

Data Collection and Privacy

By submitting your application, you consent to the collection and storage of personal data, including your name, email address, academic background, and research proposal details. This data will be:

  • Used solely for the purposes of reviewing scholarship applications.

  • Stored securely and only accessible to designated organisers.

  • Not shared or sold to third parties.
